2. ANNOUNCEMENT: SKILLSIGNAL LAUNCHES NEW PDF AND E-SIGN FUNCTIONALITY
Safety Week is an exciting time for us to introduce SkillSignal's latest product enhancement! All our mobile platforms will now offer document management and e-signature. People can use their mobile devices to complete, search, request and collaborate on forms or toolbox talks, converting field paperwork to digital pdf documents.
It's a leap towards the paperless worksite!
> Workers can complete and sign orientation forms directly on their mobile device, using their SkillSignal app profile. All documents are stored in one searchable PDF library, eliminating the need for binders, scanning, or manual browsing across 1,000's pages!
> On 9/30, foremen will be able to use their mobile apps to prepare, re-use, collaborate and collect signatures for pre-shift forms, JHA's/JSA's, toolbox talks and any relevant templates. This will help eliminate hours of paperwork and administrative aggravation every day!
3. WE'RE CELEBRATING SAFETY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
The Nevada Mining Association has announced the recipients of its 2020 Mine Operator Safety Awards. The awards celebrate Nevada’s mining operations: in 2019, Nevada mines recorded a total of 28.5 million work hours at 227 mine sites across the state.
This year, 30 mine operators in total received an award. Check the recipients list here. Congratulations to these great companies!!
4. WE'RE FOLLOWING INFLUENCERS: ABBY FERRI, The Ferri Group
Abby Ferri, from Minneapolis, is a hyper-active influencer in the Occupational Safety area. She is an accomplished entrepreneur, she writes, she podcasts (see below), and according to her Twitter bio, she is the voice of the Safety News Alexa Flash Briefing!!
She uses her Master degree in EHS from the University of Minnesota Duluth, her 17 years of professional experience and her practical and creative approach to build safety program from scratch and provide safety, and risk control services for her clients across construction, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, beverage, and retail.
Abby has held administrative positions with the ASSP Northwest Chapter since 2016. Most of us recognize her as one of the 3 founders of the Safety Justice League, one of our favorite podcast! Make sure to check out past episodes here.
5. WE'RE LISTENING TO:
Although we've listened to the Safety Justice League show (see Abby Ferri's profile above), we found the Safety Talks from 7/28/2020 about Beliefs and Myths in Safety with Tamara Parris particularly insightful on how safety impacts organizational decisions and culture. Check it out here.
